Meet the B.S. Language Requirement: 

After two semesters, you'll be able to understand and participate in simple conversations about familiar topics such as studies, work, free time activities, hobbies, language abilities and interests such as sport, music, movies, daily schedule and outdoor activities.

Meet the B.A. Language Requirement: 

After four semesters, you'll be able to understand and participate in conversations about familiar topics such as family, work, interests, weather and seasons, celebrations (both personal and cultural), hometowns and places to live.

Why study Ukrainian?

Studying the Ukrainian language can be a smart and beneficial choice for the innovative and forward-looking student. It is critical for current and future geopolitical relations in Europe and understanding the Ukrainian language can provide insights into the complex political and social dynamics of the country, offering better insight into the challenges Ukrainians face. Soon the country will be rebuilding and there will be high demand for engineers, interpreters, tech developers, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders.

If you are a beginner, sign up for CRL 101 under course section number 347 in UAccess. If you have studied the language before or have spoken it at home, you should reach out to the tutor of your language or the Program Coordinator to schedule a free informal placement assessment.   If you do not see a level that you need offered in UAccess, reach out to critlang@arizona.edu.

You may have interest in learning this language but do not need university credit. We offer non-credit, community online courses for adults, as well as individualized tutoring.  (No UA matriculation needed).
