The Critical Languages Program seeks part-time language tutors to conduct weekly non-credit tutorial sessions. The candidate must be a native or near-native speaker of the target language, able to work professionally with small group tutorial sessions (or 1:1) and act as a liaison between the students and examiner. Content focus may include speaking, pronunciation, grammar, writing, reading, and study skills development. Interested candidates should fill out this form with all required information.
Language Examiner Interest Form
The Critical Languages Program occasionally has need for more language examiners to conduct online individual midterm and final oral exams (approx. 10 min long) for credit language courses, to conduct occasional Credit-by-Exam evaluations, and to provide curriculum support (oversight of student learning outcomes, exam tasks, and rubrics). Examiners are part of the CLP instructional team together with the language tutor(s). Details can be found here. Interested candidates should fill out this form with all required information.
Open Student Positions
These are unique opportunities to grow your leadership skills, develop intercultural competence, and expand your transferable skill sets. Must be a currently enrolled UA student.
Interested candidates should submit their resume, a brief letter sharing their specific interest in the particular position and relevant skills, and the name and email of at least one recent professional reference (e.g. supervisors, professors, or professional mentors are acceptable). Contenders will be invited to complete an interview task before advancing to a final interview.
Marketing Student Intern (for credit, unpaid)
Position Overview: The Critical Languages Program Marketing Student Intern will play a vital role in promoting our Critical Languages Program (CLP) at the University of Arizona. This program is a gem and one of the best kept secrets of the university. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in marketing while contributing to the growth and success of our language program. Student earns 1-3 credits during the PAH 493 internship for 45 hours per credit. Candidates do not need to be fluent in a CLP language to take on this roll. This position is posted to Handshake. Language Assistant Preceptors (for credit, unpaid)
Position Overview: The Critical Languages Program Language Assistant Preceptor program is a unique opportunity for proficient speakers of languages taught in our program to support the study of the language by leading conversation practice opportunities. Students first complete training and then host and organize conversation practice opportunities. Students interested in becoming a Language Assistant should apply here. Students accepted into the program will then be invited to register for CRL 391. This is a great leadership opportunity for multilingual students.

Position Overview: The Critical Languages Program Office Assistant Student Worker plays a vital role in supporting the Critical Languages Program (CLP) at the University of Arizona. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in program management and administration while assisting with the day-to-day operations of a dynamic and growing program. The Office Assistant must be a self-starter, but we will guide and support you every step of the way. This is a temporary position with the possibility of continuing after the end date, contingent upon performance, department need, and availability of program funding.
