Retroflex

A retroflex is a sound that is made by flexing the tip of your tongue
backwards towards the top of your mouth. Make a "j" sound in English. Now make it again, but this time curl your tongue towards the back of your mouth and say it. That's a retroflex. That particular sound would be spelled "zh" in our romanization.
